PHOTOSHOOT #1

Hello models and let me officially welcome you to IMDB's Next Top Model Cycle 6!

It is time to start your very first photoshoot for the competition!

As you may or may not know, every cycle comes with a different theme for the photoshoots.

In Cycle 6, we will draw inspiration from real, published fashion images, as well as some artistic photography!!

Lets get to the first shoot!


SHOOT #1- SIMPLY BEAUTY


We are starting off with inspiration from 2 very familiar faces!!

BRIEF:
You will be completing a simple beauty shoot- no gimmicks, no crazy antics- just you and your beautiful face, selling YOU as a model.
This brief calls for simplicity- do not go overboard with hair and makeup.
We want to see you as a blank canvas, showing us your top model potential and your ability to connect with the camera because if you don't have those things, you will go nowhere in this competition!

It is very important that you think about the lighting and your angles- all of your artistic decisions in this shoot will be a telltale sign of your abilities, or lack thereof, and that is what we will be judging you on; whether or not you can create a dynamic, beautiful image.

All of the judges are expecting high standards of work, so do not let the simplicity of the shoot lead you to complacency or low quality.

You may each send in 5 frames only, to me via PM by SUNDAY! Thats right guys, you only have FIVE days! After those 5 days there will be a grace period of ONE day. If you send your picture in on that day, you will receive penalty points at the first judging panel. After that, your shoot may not be accepted, so get in ASAP!

FOR ALL SHOOTS TO COME:
I really do urge you guys to think about EVERYTHING within your shoots- not just your face and body but makeup, wardrobe, props, set, lighting, contrast, composition etc. All of these things can greatly effect the final mood or feel of a photograph, so be sure to think about all these things and experiment with different elements every week. The person who makes it to the end will be the person who has proven to understand what a great fashion shot looks like and what response it will cause in the viewer. Make it INTERESTING and remember you are always selling an idea, a product and YOURSELVES!

CHALLENGE!!!
This photoshoot doubles as an activity challenge- we want to find out who is active amongst the boards and is really passionate about this competition. So, I am setting a little challenge for you all. If you are the FIRST person to send your photos in, you will receive bonus points at the first Judging Panel!!! But beware, because if you are LAST, you will be handed penalty points!

ONE MORE THING!
When you checked into your hotel, you signed your name up next to a number and I said that behind one of those numbers, a prize was hidden. Well, it is time to reveal the winner and their prize.
The person who chose this number will receive FIVE extra frames for the photoshoot- that is double what everyone else gets and in the very first week, this could prove to be invaluable!

The winner of this prize is the one chose the Number 6- for Cycle 6 of course, duh!

looking pretty is hard i always look like im a perv or on crack

Since leigh lives in wacko australian time, i dont think he'll answer this till like tommorow

but i think he wants a simple background and i dont think it matters with the expres​sion(unless he wants everyone to look the same )

Or balance an 9 pound lobster on your head while trying to maintain your expression as the timer counts down, or make tear stick to induce tears, or cram your body into a tiny bathtub for over an hour trying to find an angle that wouldn't feature the bathtub, or create your own lady gaga inspired outfit out of a bed sheet duct tape cardboard and safety pins...as pictured here.

I ended up with like 6 mosquito bites on my lower back/ass from that damn photoshoot... lol.

If your pics are bad then you have five whole days to make them better

And I don't think you get any extra love if you send them in first, so just take your time so you are able to put in more effort.

Its in the rules- it says that you may only send in the allocated amount of frames and that any after that wont be accepted. Perhaps it wasnt clear that that statement applies to resending also?

I was going to shoot today but I felt nasty and oily from being outside the whole day. I was judging at the sceience competition at my school and it was held outside.
